le pain quotidien

Had a quinoa taboulé with arugula, chickpeas and avocado in Le Pain Quotidion yesterday.
Defintely something I want to try recreating at home!
They also have the best pastry there

all out

Ah the sun finally came out yesterday and newyorkers are now everywhere enjoying outdoor seats with their cigs and coffee (or ice cream)

I've done most of my shopping here in New York in bookstores - some books and lot of stationery. I really like the wood-print notebook from recycled paper I found. From now on I try to motivate myself to write more.

And this green disgusting-looking thing is supposed to be celery-apple-cucumber-spinach juice with wheat grass and lemon. Tastes amazing but you probably wouldn't believe me!

fun house

Yesterday We were shooting some funny animations and gifs for Vmagazine with Pamela Reed & Matthew Rader yesterday featuring looks from Alexander Wang, Balenciaga and Viktor&Rolf SS13 collections. We had this crazy hair thing going on and I can say it was heavy!

/Make-up: Kristin Hilton, hair: Linh Nguyen, styling: Jessica Bobince/

They had a wall with polaroids of everyone with Mister Wubba, the bird.

And of course I got mine as well!

Thank you Karolin Kuusik for this lovely necklace.
I took it to the 5th Ave and Central Park yesterday.

You can get your own little animal from Siison or Nu Nordik.

Golden rings from Balenciaga SS 2013.
Moreover they are part of Nicolas Ghesquiere's last collection for the house.

ten rings, one on each finger.

I'm actually sure that you don't need Balenciaga's to do the trick.

orange grace

Though I was in doubts I still went ahead I got myself the "Grace", a memoir by long-time Vogue fashion editor Grace Coddington.
Maybe it was just because the beautiful orange colour...maybe it's actually worth reading. I'll soon find out!

Accompanied by my new favourite, cranberry-apple juice.

Sorry for not giving any updates from New York. I've been running around a lot and it's been mostly too cold to even take out my camera. I'm hoping to see some signs of spring by the weekend!

Nevertheless I'm still spamming my instagram account :)

Last breakfast at home before heading off to New York for two weeks!

This time caramelized peaches with honey and Cointreau, greek yogurt and pancakes on the side.
I found the recipe from the latest issue of Toit&Trend and it also can be seen here on Similar recipe in English here.

Celine FW 2013 jewelry DIY

Laundrybag-looking coats from Celine Fall-Winter 2013/14 took most of the attention from the collection but I tried to look little further and noticed the jewelry featured in the collection. There were a couple of really simple necklaces and cuffs with just one big bead in the middle. In fact these look like something a little kid could come up with when making jewelry.
I love how the bead sits between the two collarbones.
In a little while I came up with my own even more simplified version.
easy DIY project!

Used natural wooden beads which I painted black with acrylic paint and basic wire necklace and cuff.
I can imagine the necklace looking good with dee v-neck, or the exact opposite, high turtle-neck.

I also made a few with green beads in silver wire, hopefully will show you soon!

thin blue line

I was looking for a make-up inspiration for last night and after seeing a film for David Bowie's new single "The Stars are out Tonight" and knew exactly what I want to do.
Yes, Tilda's blue eyeliner matching with Bowie's shirt is just perfect.
Luckily I had some Maybelline's eye studio cream eye shadow lying around, which I thought I would never use. To be honest, full blue eye make-up sounds quite horrifying but I was willing to try out just a thin line.
I was very happy with the result and it was super easy to apply even for a beginner like me.

Check out the video for even more eyecandy: Tilda Swinton, Andrej Pejic, Saskia de Brauw, Iselin Steiro.
