Electromagnetic: Modern Art in Northern Europe 1918–1931

Though artist like Fernard Léger and Juan Gris were working in Paris in 1920s, they also had a big impact on artist of Northern Europe.

The exhibition curated by Gladys C. Fabre shed more light on the work of the Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian artists of the period.

The Basis of Concrete Painting (Art Concret, No. 1, April 1930)
  • Art in universal.
  • The construction of a painting and its elements should be simple and direct in its visualization.
  • The technique should be mechanical, that is to say, precise rather than impressionistic.

For me it was like a breath of fresh air... very impressive and inspiring

health-safe bottles by EQUA

I am the one who always carries a water bottle with them. I usually buy a water in plastic bottle and the reuse and refill the bottle with tap water for several weeks, sometimes even for a month. It is much talked about how reused plastic bottles can leach toxic chemicals, especially BPA that interferes with the body’s natural hormonal messaging system.

I had been thinking about buying a proper bottle for a while. However, I had't seen anything I like until I discovered EQUA bottles thank to Anna Elisabeth, who also designed a line of bottles for the company. EQUA is based in Slovenia and they produce BPA free plastic bottles and hand blown glass bottles.

I couldn't decide and bought two: 570ml glass bottle from CMYK collection and a 400ml Plain BPA-free plastic bottle. Both are suitable either for hot or cold drinks, the plastic one is also dishwasher-safe.

The best feature is that you can remove the cap and add lemon, cucumber, mint leaves, ginger etc. do make flavored and detox drinks. I am probably also going to use it to take hot tea or fresh smoothies with me when going out.

You can order the bottles online

Anneli Tammik FLOCK

This Anneli Tammik spring inspired exhibition is already the second but not the last jewellery exhibiton I'm going to tell you about this week.

FLOCK was something really heart-warming, delicate and pure. Just graceful beaded floating swans with accompanying lines of poetry.

Go and see it only until April 1st at HOP gallery, Hobusepea 2, Tallinn

Jewellery around the corner

If you have a chance then definitely go and look for this jewelry exhibition hidden in the courtyard of Hobusepea 2. It's opened only until this Saturday, March 22!
They have built a special greenhouse-looking construction to exhibit jewelry by the members of GRAM jewellery studio. I love how simple it looked - clear white stands, plain light bulbs and a breath of fresh air.

Moschino fall 2014/15
I would personally never wear these Moschino looks, not only that they look hideous, but why should I want to be a walking-advertisement for such a brand as McDonald's… just doesn't sound right.

Loreal x Proenza Schouler nails

Whew,.. fashion weeks are over but  I still need time to look through all the photos and find my favorites. I'll start with my recollections from New York - all I remember from the Proenza Schouler show are the nice black and white graphic patterns.
These came into my mind as soon as I saw a special Loreal Tweed Top Coat nailpolish which leaves a black&white texture on nails.
It sounded like  really easy way how to adapt the Proenza look without waiting until fall2014.

(Loosisin täna välja ka 25€ kinkekaardi võitja, võtan võitjaga peagi ühendust ;) Aitäh kõigile osalemast! )

Besides tidying up my room and putting together moodboards for the new collections this weekend, I also experimented with beauty rituals I usually never have time for.

I was eager to try out facial scrub set from French organic cosmetics brand Alorée  Chlorocosmetics. Such a name because they are the first to use chlorophyll, a tiny green molecule, in beauty products.

The kit comes with small dish with a spatula, a small jar of exfoliating seeds and sample of radiant mask.

Alorée Detox Facial Scrub Kit (olemas nt Kaubamajas ja

The exfoliating mix is made of olive kernel powder and Alfalfa seeds. That sounded intriguing to me as before I've seen only sugar, salt, coffee grounds and such things used as scrubs.

Probably the fact that you can do and mix something by yourself, makes the whole process more exciting… or I was just too bored before that..
Anyway you have to mix the seeds with a little amount of facial mask or face cleansing gel. This time I used the sample of Radiant Mask that came with the kit.
It seems to me that the amount of seeds will last for at least 10-15 uses.
