High school graduation

I never saw that day coming so fast!
12 years ago.. even 3 years ago it seemed to be too far away to even think about.

Maybe I'm picky but I just couldn't find a right dress so I opted for long silky skirt by Karolin Kuusik instead.... and a sweater was pretty justified considering the weather.

3 times a pie

experimented with phyllo dough the other day.... it was rather disastrous but the amazing spinach-feta filling saved everything. The original Greek spanakopitas are actually triangle-shaped.

DIY Matcha Detox Ice blocks

As I have loads of matcha green tea powder from Japan at home, I decided to use some of it for detoxing iceblocks. The idea comes from the Panatea blog. See the instructions below (and also the health-benefits of matcha).

These will be great just to make any summer drinks and even lemon water more colourful as they don't affect the taste too much.

street art in Tartu

A little collection of street art in Tartu from my phone's camera roll, of course there's a lot more, this is just from a past month.

on the left: Kairo - remake of the iconic Endel Kõks's painting In The Café in the bathroom of Genialistide Klubi.
on the right: Before I Die at Uus Õu. A street art project which started in New Orleans and in which everyone can participate. You simply have to write down what you would like to do or accomplish before you die.

Dark moon

My favourite one of the new ear cuffs, three pearl drop ear cuff, is now available with black pearls.

Lover's eye

I was doing a little research on 18th jewelry and found these eye miniatures aka Lover's eye brooches. These were worn secretly (inside clothes) so no one would find out about your affair.

Eye miniatures are believed to have originated when George IV felt the need to send the widow Maria Fitzherbert a token of his love. This gesture and the romance that went with it was frowned upon by the court, so a miniaturist was employed to paint only the eye and thereby preserve anonymity and decorum.

Wild peonies and wolves

Stumbled upon this beautiful perfumed candle at Kaubamaja beauty department the other day.
I had never heard of this brand before but as I googled now, seems that it's originated in Latvia. Their candles are handmade in a family-owned authentic manor house Vilksala (Eng. Isle of Wolf) in the West of Latvia, that has revived the traditional craftsmanship of candle making.

Even though I chose a scent called "sensual peony" I couldn't resist and get some real flowers as well.

Buly 1803: modernized Parisian perfume house.

The newest addition to the household: scented matches from French perfume house Buly 1803
It's was founded by Parisian perfumer Jean-Vincent Bully (renowned for his perfumes and scented vinegars) already in 1803 but was just recently resurrected and modernised.

The newly opened boutique that looks like an old apothecary shop which has been around since the 19th-century. Looks amazing, like a perfect place to do all your beauty shopping for oils, perfumes, soaps, creams and scented candles of course. Will put it on my Paris to-do list!

EKA graduates: fashion design.

On Saturday evening a small group of people gathered at NO99 theatre to see Estonian Academy of Arts fashion design graduates' show. I loved the spontaneous feeling of the event - not so so many people, models walking in the middle of the audience, chance to look closely and touch the moodboards and I Wear* Experiment giving a little concert in the end.

Bloggers' talk at Viru Keskus

On Wednesday I was asked to take part of bloggers' panel at Viru Keskus alongside with three other lovely Estonian fashion and lifestyle bloggers (Aljona, Merily and Anna Elisabeth). Those 20 minutes passed super quickly and to be honest, it was a bit too short time to go deeper in the topic of whether bloging is the growing trend in alternative media or rather a declining phenomenon. Well I hope that everyone who came didn't feel this was time wasted :)

La Muu ice cream heaven at Viru Keskus

I couldn't been happier when I heard that my favorite Estonian ice cream parlor La Muu is opening their first café in Tallinn at Viru Keskus. The café will be offering all new exciting flavors that may be a bit "too special" to actually be produced for wholesale. So it's a good idea to keep an eye on their varying menu.
They go even further and offer different soups, salads, pastries and burgers with ingredients from organic farms. At the opening event we were suggested to try out beet and goat cheese pie, beetroot pesto, farm yogurt with handmade white-chocolate sea buckthorn granola, not to mention the rhubarb crumble with La Muu ice cream which was amazing!

Be sure to try the rhubarb ice cream while it lasts, it only for the summer season!
The other options are: chocolate, coconut, mango (my absolute favorite), coffee, vanilla, banana, oven-baked apple and kama.

White Noise

Loving the Gaia Repossi's latest collection for Repossi entitled White Noise. Light and delicate rings, bracelets and earrings in various colors of gold. Moreover, Gaia herself seems to be such an inspiring and lovely woman.

Repossi said that the line was informed by architecture and various artistic movements, notably the work of Alexander Calder. I always love seeing art  references! You get the feeling that art history classes weren't useless after all (tough I have never thought so any way, art history was my favorite in school)

Getting hair summer ready

While I keep forgetting about the approaching high school graduation and trying not to think about it too much (yes, I even don't have a dress for the ceremony yet), salon24 already surprised me with a little gift.

It happens to be a perfect summer package: Bed head by Tigi Oh Bee Hive matte dry shampoo for camping trips and festivals, Rich Hair Care leave-in conditioner for UV protection and Joico K-Pak protein mask to reconstruct healthy hair.
