Alpaca wool plaid

Just in time I got back to chilly Estonia, I was greeted with a lifesaving plaid made of 100% baby alpaca wool.
My biggest gratitude goes to ALPAKA, a company originated in Estonia sourcing materials from Peru and making the softest and warmest plaids, scarves, rugs and throws of natural alpaca wool. Alpacas are South American camelids, indigenous to the Peruvian highlands. The harsh climate and temperature fluctuations of up to 40°C that the animals have to endure at 3 500 - 5 000m of altitude, make the material of alpaca one of the most desirable natural fibers in the world.

ALPAKA products are sold in 30 countries worldwide, online and at their headquarters located in Tallinn.

Handmade teddy bear to show you how gentle and smooth the alpaca fur is.

At first I was thinking about using the plaid at home while lounging and reading a book but it has actually proven itself as a great everyday scarf. Especially now when sunshine gives me temptation to sit at outdoor cafés but temperatures aren't really encouraging it. Just wrap yourself in the scarf (a great replacement to the ugly plaids they give out at the cafes) and pretend it's summer already!
