much in little

I am gradually moving from wearing no jewelry at all to wearing super simple and minimal "almost-not-there" studs and bracelets. Love both of the pairs I found at & Other Stories, good price as well! They actually have nice a little selection of gold-plated and sterling silver jewelry at slightly higher price point too.

Alexander Calder. Multum in Parvo

The number of art galleries is New York is simply overwhelming and I rarely see something I really-really like. Things were different today, I'm feeling super inspired after visiting Dominique Lévy gallery in uptown. They are showing a collection of 40 miniature works by American sculptor Alexander Calder (1898-1973). Taking its title, MULTUM IN PARVO, from the Latin phrase meaning “much in little,” the exhibition explores the ways in which Alexander Calder’s most diminutive works, ranging from thumb-sized to thirty inches tall, achieve monumental impact.
I have always loved Calder's monumental kinetic sculptures and seeing so many of them in mini versions all together was even better.

My Wardrobe in MOOD May 2015

Shared some of my wardrobe favourites in the newest issue of MOOD magazine. Not surprisingly all the items happened to be from & Other Stories, Zara, H&M and second hands stores, as simple as that. The long black dress on the main page is an amazing piece from the new H&M Conscious Exclusive only need to find an appropriate  event where to wear it.

Sunny day in Central Park

Central Park has turned into such a magical place within the arrival of spring!
Yesterday Alexandra, Harleth and I walked through it to have a lunch by the lake at The Loeb Boathouse (and snapped some mandatory blossom pics on the way)

The Loeb Boathouse, the best part of the restaurant is obviously the view and bright light that comes in right through the big glass walls (well, burratta and prosciutto were amazing too)

it's spring in new york, baby

A few more photos from last we walked through soho and china town, discussing how we would never give up this experience for something else. Sometimes you just gotta remind yourself what a amazing chance it is to live in New York at such  young age. It's easy to forget that due the stress of little everyday problems.

Fish shopping in Prada

On Friday Alexandra and I wandered through the bustling streets of China Town to take some fun photos and check out all the quirky stuff sold there.

Feather ear cuffs in Vogue Germany

Yesterday morning I woke up to very good news - one of my dangle feather ear cuffs is featured in the newest issue of Vogue Germany. The blue ear cuff fits perfectly into the denim themed shoot set in LA and featuring one of my favourite models Sam Rollinson.

shoutout to the best roommates ever

I often get questions about where I stay when I'm in New York, the answer is a model apartment that  I share with five to seven other girls. Coming from a big family, I am used to sharing bedrooms and waiting in a line for bathroom, so it's alright but it depends a lot on who your roommates are. I'm super lucky to have such nice people around me who all come from different countries and cultures - that's what makes life here so interesting.

Organic Avenue smoothie bowl and how to Do-It-Yourself

I am one of those who could never do a smoothie diet, let alone a juice cleanse. After having a smoothie I am always left craving for some solid food..something crunchy. The only form of smoothie I really like is the smoothie bowl - looks and feels little bit more like an actual meal.
I recently tried the Titan Smoothie Bowl at Organic Avenue but as having organic food for lunch everyday is an expensive habit in New York, I figured out the bowl is super easy to make at home. See below for the ingredients and instruction.
According to This nutrient-dense smoothie is packed with leafy greens, grasses, and algae that boost your energy and alkalize your body. Alkalizing fruit and protein-packed hemp seeds make this a perfectly balanced treat to enjoy at any time of day.

And now get back to the kitchen and do-it-yourself.

For the Green Smoothie Bowl (adjust the quantities how you like)
1/4 cup milk of your choice (almond, soy, full-fat)
1 ripe banana
1 cup fresh baby spinach
1/4 cup frozen mango

For the Toppings:
sliced bananas
hemp seeds
(more ideas: shredded coconut, chia seeds, honey, sliced kiwis, fresh berries, almonds, pumpkin seeds)

In a blender, add the milk, banana, spinach and mango, in that order. Blend on low speed until the mixture is thick and creamy. You may have to tamp it down to help it blend evenly. Transfer to a bowl and let it set in the freezer while you prepare your toppings.

first signs of spring

Let me know what would you like to hear about most while I'm here in New York this month? - travel/food/shopping tips, working and living in the city, modelling, exhibitions, whatever, you name it;)

at home with H&M Conscious Exclusive

Time to give you a sneak peak of my favourites from H&M Conscious Exclusive collection again!
In my last post I showed you a rather comfortable everyday spring look, my other favourite item from the collection was far from casual - long tight-fit v-neck dress made from recycled polyester covered in beads made from recycled plastic. I love the low rounded neckline at the back, narrow shoulder straps and the mix of mesh, beads and chiffon.

It's nice to ditch the sweatpants and dress up at home for a change! But if I were actually going out in that dress, I'd do the opposite - dress it down with leather boots and an oversized sweater.

Get yourselves ready, H&M Conscious Exclusive lands in stores already this Thursday, April 16.

New Yorkers' obsession with kale has gone too far

even so that we now have team-Kale sweatshirts

and cookbooks dedicated to this green leafy plant

they even put kale in the traditional quinoa salad, it was delicious though
