New in: Proenza Schouler jeans

I have been obsessed with those Jackson Pollock-esque Proenza Schouler jeans since they first came out about five years ago. I remember I was 15 back then and tried to DIY these pants at home - didn't work! That being said, I couldn't been happier when I came across the hand-painted originals at Beacon's Closet a week ago. It's such a treasure box.

I need this sweatshirt in my life!

100,00 floating white balloons inside London's Covent Garden, 19th-century market building. Magical!
It's an installation called Heartbeat by French artist Charles Pétillon. It took twenty-five workers and five days to fill the building with 100,000 giant white balloons.
“The balloon invasions I create are metaphors,” Pétillon told Design Boom. “Their goal is to change the way in which we see the things we live alongside each day without really noticing them. with ‘heartbeat’ I want to represent the market building as the beating heart of this area – connecting its past with the present day to allow visitors to re-examine its role at the heart of London’s life.”

Cafe Grumpy

My new favourite coffee shop in new York - Cafe Grumpy, they know my mood too well! I know this  independently owned and operated cafe chain has been around for a while and anyone who watches HBO's Girls knows it well but I only recently started going there more often. They happen to have one spot on 39th Street where Calvin Klein and many other castings take place so I ended up having an Americano or two there everyday.

China: Through the Looking Glass

So lucky to make it to the MET China themed fashion exhibition last minute, just a day before closing.
The atmosphere was beautiful and a bit mystical even. The exhibition featured more than 140 extraordinary examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear alongside Chinese art and filmic representations of China. Really excited to see some movies by Chinese directors now.

Legendary milliner Stephen Jones created custom headpieces for each of the mannequins, including hats, tiaras, and fascinators inspired by antique Chinese vases, teapots, and plates.

Some behind-the-scenes moments from Sunday when I was shooting a lookbook for a very cool New York based womenswear brand SEA. The designers had the most amazing space with high ceilings, white walls and a lot of sunlight in downtown Manhattan, probably the biggest apartment I have ever seen in New York

it's new york fashion week, baby!

This is what fashion week preparations really look for me. Running around castings from early morning til late night, grabbing quick lunches at shabby delis ja 1$ pizza joints, forcing my way through China town bustling streets crowded with counterfeit bag vendors, trying to make it in New York like thousands and thousands other foreigners next to me.

New in: Helmut Lang wrap top

Passed by my favourite thrift shop Beacon's Closet during a break between castings the other day and came across this amazing simple top with a leather belt for 20$. Definitely the new favourite staple item in my wardrobe.

Current obsession: Golden Goose sneakers

Golden Goose is an Italian brand created by self-taught designers Francesca and Alessandro Gallo in 2009. They combine artisan craftsmanship, retro silhouettes and signature distressing techniques to create effortlessly cool sneakers and boots for men and women.

Had a chance to wear a pair of these on a shoot the other day and I swear these are most comfortable and softest sneakers I have ever worn (after Nike's flyknits of course)

note the super short laces, no need to tie them!
