Seoul: one in a million cafe/pub

I have noticed myself often choosing a coffee shop by its looks. It is not only the menu, prices and location that count when making a decision.
Well I guess it's everywhere in the world but in Seoul it's especially distinctive - a cafe has to look photogenic, so called insta-worthy, to drive more customers. Here people are shamelessly spending 20 minutes to get a perfect instagram shot of their coffee, even walking around the place to find a better background and light. And then another 20 minutes goes for getting an outfit shot...

A few keywords for an instaworthy cafe - marble tables, tiled floors, well-designed cup-sleeves, cute neon signs, room plants name it.

One In A Million, a coffee shop I luckily came across last week, fulfils all these requirements!
Recently opened cafe/pub in Hannam-dong neighbourhood is already popular amongst the well-dressed fashionable crowd and no wonder why..

Seoul: Hannam-dong

Another of my favourite neighbourhoods in Seoul - Hannam-Dong. Just an hour walk away across the Han river from Gangnam where I live. Yes, after a while in mega metropolis like Seoul, places just one hour walk away seem very close!

Salad Seller is for sure the best salad cafe I have tried out so far. It is hard to come across healthy cafes here as every other place is for Korean barbecue, noodles or decadent cakes.

I love how they have listed every single ingredient in the menu, even such as salt, pepper and butter. Gotta try some of these soups at home!

New in: Ida Tau leather suspenders

My closet is quickly filling with made-in-Estonia leather goods, in addition to WÖÖ leather backpack (see here) I now got my hands on Ida Tau leather accessories.
Wearing leather suspenders feels a lot like a throwback to five-six years ago when I was obsessed with Zana Bayne's leather harnesses and even made my own D-I-Y version for styling purposes. Always nice to "rediscover" old favourites.

Ida Tau leather suspenders come in three colours (black, white and brown) and are available at Tali store in Tallinn.
feel free to write for special requests!

Worn here with: blazer - Helmut Lang, shorts - Zara, feathers bracelet - Anni Jürgenson, watch - Daniel Wellington, top - Urban Outfitters

Seoul: Avenuel Magazine May 2016

New editorial for Avenuel magazine shot by a riverside an hour outside of Seoul, could be in Italy honestly.. Photoshop does magic, no need to say that the river actually didn't look so blue and there was a lot of trash floating in the water.

It was one particularly hot day in April so I didn't even need to fake that I feel hot (as it usually goes with shooting summer clothes in winter/early spring)

Seoul Guide: Queenmama Market and Manufact Coffee Roasters

Queenmama Market a grandiose concept store specialising in gardening, kitchenware, stationery, with an addition of clothing and an excellent selection of room perfumes and scented candles (think Merci in Paris). Definitely worth a visit when in Seoul!
Located next to picturesque Dosan park, the surrounding streets are perfect for a weekend stroll and people watching. Kind of quiet yet lively neighbourhood where you can smell money and expensive perfume in the air.

  • Queenmama Market
  • 10:30 - 20:00 (TUE - SAT)
  • 12:00 - 20:00 (SUN)

If expensive stationery is not your thing, go up to fourth floor for a cup of hand-drip at Manufact Coffee Roasters. I was surprised how reasonable the prices were there (2,5€ for Americano) considering the location. The cafe is very spacious and in addition they boast a plant-filled rooftop terrace.
