I wanted to tell you about another store in The Netherlands carrying my ear cuffs line. They're called Frou Frou's and they also have a nice selection of vintage clothes, shoes and accessories. For example last week I received these cat-eye sunglasses from there. They also have them available here on their online shop.

If you happen to be in the Netherlands, check out their little store in Arnhem or their webshop. The sweet owner of the store, Leonie, also has a nice blog worth taking look at.

Holiday spirit in the city

There's plenty of Holiday Markets around the Manhattan through 24 Dec and I'm really enjoying them. Even if you're bored of crafts and yet another handmade soaps and other stuff like that you can just enjoy warm apple cider or hot chocolate. And if you're lucky you can even find glühwein from a stand called German Delights. I also found a man who was selling gingerbreads today. Suddenly it almost felt like back at home in Estonia. And how could you say no to classic nutella et banana crepes or pretzels. When it's all accompanied with Christmas songs and lights it actually feels pretty great.

On Monday I was looking around Tribeca area and found this cute litte restaurant called Kitchenette to have a lunch.

I love those not-trying-to-be-too-fancy places, where you can just feel very cosy and homely. For example when you order a coffee they will bring you a generous cup full of just hot and simple coffee..and refill it whenever you want. After that I really don't feel like ever going to Starbucks again.

Of course it would have been nice to order something traditional, something 'American' but I went for a Mediterrenean salad and was very happy with my choice. I'm sure I'm going to re-make it at home, super-easy, just some greens, roasted eggplant and peppers, artichoke hearts, handful of fresh mozzarella, all tossed over with basil vinaigrette. I think I might have to go back there for a breakfast one day, because a herb and goat cheese omlette sounds just too good and I haven't had pancakes in a while... gingerbread ones with pumpkin butter would be nice as I'm already in a holiday mood.

Last Sunday was perfect for visiting some flea markets around Manhattan. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the Brooklyn one. You should check Hellskitchenfleamarket.com for more information, they have one marketplace on West 25th Street and the other one on West 39th. I'm sure they also have some special holiday markets coming up! This time I didn't draw much attention to vintage clothing and jewelry (of which they had a fantastic selection). I was more fascinated by all the other bric-a-brac and interior design items.

I have a few days left in New York and I'm already very tired of all those big luxury department stores, so I'm asking does anybody have a good guide for vintage and thrift shopping in New York? What places are your favourites?

Whitney Museum of American Art

Visited Whitney Museum, which is dedicated to American art on Saturday. I wasn't allowed to take photos inside the exhibitons so here's just few from the museum shop and cafe I . Two things which tend to be the most interesting things about museums, no, really, I actually enjoyed Sherrie Levine's and sculptor David Smith's exhibitons. And the cafe called 'Untitled' downstairs was very nice as well. I've never seen kale in Estonia so I ordered a crispy kale salad with beetroot straight away.

I decided to avoid that crazy and hectic Black Friday shopping and take a walk in Chelsea, Meatpacking District and Greenwich Village. It all felt so good - sun was shining, people seemed to be happy, sitting at outdoor cafes, drinking coffee, recovering from Thanksgiving. I sat on Le Pain Quotidien's terrace and enjoyed an artichoke quiche. Hard to believe it's actually December next week! Trying to postpone the upcoming winter as long as possible!

The infamous Hotel Chelsea, where Sid Vicious's girlfriend was found stabbed, Andy Warhol's 1966 movie "Chelsea Girls", starring Factory Superstars Viva and Nico was captured and Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Edie Sedgwick among many others have stayed.

I'm so glad I randomly found this little store called Evolution in SoHo. I've always wondered where can you buy all those things - taxidermy, fossils, minerals, human and animal skulls, insects and many more (the next question would be why would you need all this stuff), well , you can everything from there. The store itself was like a museum. And I definitely did not leave empty-handed.

Museum Mile

I had a free Monday morning so I took a walk by the Central Park on the Museum Mile. First visited the Guggenheim, where there was a huge exhibition of Italian born, New York based artist Maurizio Cattelan. His installation was truly impressive and brought together everything that the artist has produced since 1989. The other exhibiton I liked was called Surface, Support, Process: The 1960s Monochrome in the Guggenheim Collection, showcasing monochrome and minimalist paintings and objects by Agnes Martin, John McCracken, Robert Ryman and Robert Mangold.

I was lucky to find the Neue Galerie, a museum specialising on German and Austrian art, so I had a chance to see my favourites Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.

The stylist of today's shoot had brought some really great jewelry to the set. Most of it was by a Norwegian brand called Bjorg. The ear cuffs with real pony hair were particularly cool.

It's the time of the year when all the big department stores make their holiday store window sets public. Many of them have put really much effort in it and the windows are often more entertaining than the stores themselves. I've always thought that it would be really exciting to style and design store displays.

Aftet I had finished my job yesterday I stopped by Bergdorf Goodman, where Teen Vogue x Marc by Marc Jacobs were just having a some kind of shopping event. Drinks and sweets were served and they offered you a Minx manicure with signature Marc Jacobs prints. Later I had a frozen yoghurt with chocolate chips at their 5F bar and tried on couple of Helmut Lang dresses.. probably going back some other day to decide which one to get.

I bought this book about NYC art scene to find out all the museums and galleries I should go to. I started with the biggest and the nearest one for me here in Midtown - The Museum of Modern Art

I've always dreamt about going to go the MoMA so I was pretty amazed by the fact that it's really happening.

There was also a installation by Rirkrit Tiravanija in the middle of the musem. He had transfered the contents of the gallery's back office to the display place and hot Thai curry with rice was cooked and served there for free. Visitors were invited to come, sit down and have a curry.

In the end I obviously visited the museum's book and design store and left with a handful of prints and postcards.

Rose Hartman has been capturing New York City nightlife and social life from Studio 54 to Chelsea art gallery openings for over 30 years.

The Daphne Guinness exhibiton at FIT Special Exhibitions Gallery was beyond amazing too! I wasn't allowed to take any photos there but I got close look to garments by Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh, Nina Ricci, Galliano, Lagerfeld and many others in the style icon's fascinating collection.

I spent the whole last week in a birthday mood. Not only that I celebrated my own birthday for several times I also attended a birthday party, which a vintage shop Fankadelik threw to celebrate their first successful year. And I hope it's the first out of many because everybody seems to love this place!

Projekt is an new Estonian label by two young designers Riin Kõiv and Äli Kargoja. Their aim was to create something really clean and concrete. And I think that's exaclty something what was missing from the fashion scene in Estonia.

My favourite piece from the line must be this white sweater, because the simplest things are the best.

New Nordic Fashion Illustration

From August 19th to September 18th you have a chance to get a glimpse of nordic fashion illustration at Rotermanni kvartal in Tallinn. The exhibition features eight illustrators from Estonia, Finland and Sweden. I think it gives a pretty great overview, showcasing very different styles and tehniques of fashion illustration.

The opening on Thursday evening was lovely as well, great music was played and drinks&snacks were served by Absolute and Bonaparte.

Definitely worth a visit!

And if it leaves you a feeling (like it did for me) that now you want to try something by yourself, then you have a chance to sign up for a free fashion illustration workshop on 26th August. You will find more information on that from here.

On Wednesday morning we had an amazing brunch with fashion bloggers from Estonia and Helsinki in Helsinki10 concept store. This place was.. oh my.. I seriously wanted to own every other item from there. And I feel bad that I even didn't know before that a store like this excists somewhere so near to Estonia as in Helsinki. I must go back there! and hopefully with lots of money then..

The food they served us was also amazing and it was nice to meet with fashion bloggers from Helsinki, like Liisa from Hel-Looks, Maria, Mikko, Taru and the girls from Up with Kallio organisation.
You definetly will be hearing more about my Helsinki trip soon; )

Stockholm was so beautiful with its people, architecture and cherry blossoms!

I didn't have much time for shopping but instead of that I could see my favourite works by Kazimir Malevich, Man Ray and Irving Penn in Moderna Museet so it was totally worth missing out on the shopping.

Only Raf Simons can make a plastic bag the it bag of the season. And he did. I'm seeing the Jil Sander market bags everywhere!

The pattern of this bag is shamefully simple so I thought why not to make my own.

I used some hot pink fabric but I think I'm also going to make one in black leather.
